Peggy Day Adventures

September 27 - October 11, 2017

This amazing adventure takes you out to a remote corner of Mongolia where Kazak cowboys hunt with their magnificent trained eagles. Ride with this talented group, share a meal or two and spend a couple of days with your new BFFs as they compete with their eagles in their annual competition/festival.

Afterward, we drive up towards the Jargalant Khairkhan mountains where we will set up our base camp to track snow leopards. We will put up motion sensor cameras, go out with the best local trackers, and look for marking, trace pug marks and scat.

This is one of the best areas for sighting the shy cat and we will spend a week in this pristine pocket to do just that in the comfort of a camp with private gers with stove for heating (coal or dung), folding beds w/mattresses, field WC w/closure and seats, wash sink and hot water readily available. This trip is a wonderful mix of culture and adventure in a beautiful natural setting.

Activities: Optional horseback riding or ATV ride, rugged hiking, private deluxe ger camp, hotel in Ulaanbaatar.
