Royal Manas, Bhutan's oldest national park, is linked to Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park to the north and India's Manas Tiger Reserve in the south. The park is also linked to Phibsoo Wildlife Sanctuary and Thrumshingla National Park through biological corridors.

The principal reason for this linkage is to provide a continuous gradation of protected natural habitats from tropical duars all the way to alpine Himalayan highlands. Today this largely unexplored treasure is opened to tourists to promote community based ecotourism in the park.

Animals found in the park include the golden langur, pygmy hog, hispid hare, Ganges River dolphin, onehorned rhinoceros, wild water buffalo and Asian elephant, hornbills leopards and black panthers. The Indian tiger and the stockier Bhutanese sub-species have also been known to discreetly use this corridor.

Join us as we travel by car, on foot, on top of an elephant and with river rafts to discover the rare and diverse types of flora and fauna in this conservation showpiece and learn how a small country like Bhutan works within to protect this national treasure,

The Royal Manas National Park directly abuts the World s Site Manas National Park and this itinerary includes an overnight in the Indian Park so that we may go out for an early morning tracking using elephants.

Activities: easy hiking, camping, river raft touring, tracking on elephants, cultural sightseeing, the opportunity to attend a religious festival. From Bangkok, on December 23rd, you could fly to a beach on an island in Thailand or Luang Prabang, Laos, and play with elephants for the Christmas holiday or ......
